Will a card from another country work?
Apple does not allow a card bought for one country to be redeemed in another.
Can I pay for iCloud+ or Apple subscriptions?
Apple Account balance can pay for iCloud+ and eligible subscriptions such as Apple Music, Apple Arcade, and Apple TV. Some subscriptions still require another payment method or have regional restrictions.
Can I use it to buy an iPhone or other hardware?
Yes. Use your Apple Account balance for hardware and accessories bought from Apple in the card’s country. Credit from redeemed App Store & iTunes cards is included in that balance.
Can I redeem the code on Windows?
Yes. Open the Apple Music or Apple TV app on Windows, sign in to the intended Apple Account, click your name, and choose Redeem.
Can I share the balance with Family Sharing?
Your Apple Account balance belongs to your account. Family members cannot spend it as a shared balance.
Why am I asked for a payment method?
Apple requires a payment method on file for some purchases, even when your balance can cover them.
Can I spend the balance at other shops?
The credit is for eligible Apple purchases. It is not general spending money for other merchants that accept Apple Pay.
Why does Apple say the code is invalid or already redeemed?
Enter the redemption code rather than the card’s serial number, and check the card country. If it was already redeemed, sign out and back in before checking the balance. Keep the order details if you still need support.
